Summary

Great game better than the first in every way. i waited a long time for this game to be released 2 years to be exact. The graphics are great way better than the first one, in fact blows it away! Game play is where this game shines though, you can jump 50 ft in the air swallow men whole and change to there form, pick up cars then throw them at people. Its just amazing the stuff you could do in this game.

Story is great so far its no MGS but its good, and sure to keep you happy till the end This game is a must buy for people who love zombies, chaos, carnage, and especially if you played the first one.

Speaking of the first one if you did play it and love the protaginist t, Alex Mercer then you might be a lil disapointed. He is now the bad guy, and you play as James Heller who i think is even more bad a$$ :)

Demand involving and sense-making story? Lovable characters? Then skip it. If you love fun action, this game is for you.

Summary

This game is not ground-breaking in many areas. Visuals are standard for this generation, story is not very inspired, etc. However, I have almost beaten the game, and while most of the missions are extremely similar, I have yet to become the slightest bit bored. This game has improved massively on it's predecessor, and become what a gory free-roam game should be: fast, fluid, flashy, and fun. Switching between powers is easy and fast, and is rarely needed (Infamous 2 could have learned a few things.) Most of the powers work differently enough to bring a sense of individuality when using them, although the Claws and Blade work similarly enough to be used interchangeably. That any power can be used for almost any situation might be annoying to some strategists out there, but it is also incredibly freeing, and I count it as a plus. Another well-done aspect was the monster creation. Each works differently, and is easiest to take down using certain maneuvers (though again, it's up to you exactly how you do it.) The "Sonic" Hunting mechanic feels fresh and is a nice change from the first game, but is used rarely and oddly: You might use it to find one target, but then the next target starts with a marker over his head.

One thing that may be a negative point is how easy the game is. I'm playing on Normal difficulty, have almost beaten the game, and died about 6 or less times. (Not bragging, it's that easy) If you want any challenge at all, start it off on hard.

Conclusion: This game is tons of fun, and what's missing in this game from others, like a great storyline and a likable protagonist, is an acceptable loss considering its genre. Personally, I consider the story this time around to be much better than the previous game's anyway. I also feel it should be mentioned that the game is plenty of fun without the pre-order incentives.

In short, they took Prototype, broke it down, built it back up and turned it into something far more epic and bad ass

Summary

I loved the original Prototype game; the concept of being a living, walking bio weapon with the ability to run on walls, glide through the air, absorb bio-mass, crush cars, tanks, and helicopters with your bare hands; ripping and consuming people left and right; and best of all being a walking armory makes Prototype a bad ass and epic game right out the gates.

A lot of people turned a blind eye to Prototype one because of it's ongoing war with Infamous; but I honestly can't pick between them. On the one hand SuckerPunch is one of my favorite gaming companies because they gave me the Sly Cooper trilogy and then came out with Infamous and Infamous 2; which were both amazing games. On the other hand Prototype and Prototype 2 are far more violent and you basically hold the power of God in the palm of your hands; but some aspects of one game are better than the other but that is besides the point.

Prototype 2 delivered and lived up to the hype that was expected of it; or at least to me it did; I had taken the liberty of pre-ordering it and going to go pick it up upon the early morning opening of Gamestop that's how excited I was for it; and upon playing it, I was highly satisfied. I spent a total 12 hours playing the game and completed all of the core missions and a majority of the side missions within that time frame and then with the Radiant addition that can give you a total 3 or 5 more hours of gameplay and even once you beat the game, it's still fun to run around and just kill people for fun.

Sgt James Heller is an amazing, awesome, rough, tough and epic bad ass new character to take the place of Alex Mercer. Don't get me wrong Mercer was great but Heller grows on you much more than he does; Mercer was typically quite and bent on just one thing and didn't really give you much to like besides his powers and ruthlessness. Heller however is funny, has a total dirty mouth, sick sense of humor, and a strong sense of ruthlessness and brutality that greatly would make you think he's related to Kratos from God of War.

Overall the game is epic and I can honestly say...I sure do hope Radical tops themselves once again, if they decide to create Prototype 3!

This game is so worth it in my opinion.

Summary

Prototype 2 is a very good game. I, for one, have not played the first one, but once I got the second one, I noticed there was a video on the main menu that explained all you needed to know from the first game. The fact that Alex Mercer started the spread of the virus and everything else that is explained clearly to you in that video. The game is really open to those of you that have not played the first game. I personally found my experiences playing this game similar to the older spiderman games, except a lot more violent and gory. I personally found the "Normal" difficulty rather challenging than other games considered I was a new player to Prototype. The game has four difficulties overall, so if you beat it on "Hard" and think you're too good for this game, try playing it on the "Insane" difficulty. That is all I have to say about this game. I definitely give this game a solid 9.5, instead of a 10 because it felt too short to me.
