Dungeon Siege hits stores

"Microsoft's action role-playing game created by Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games is now available."

Microsoft has announced that Dungeon Siege, its latest action role-playing game, is now available in stores. The game was created by Gas Powered Games, the studio founded by Chris Taylor, who created the award-winning real-time strategy game Total Annihilation. In the game, players assume control of a group of up to eight adventurers in a seamless medieval fantasy world. The game's 3D engine eliminates all loading times, so players can explore the world continuously both above and below ground.

Players begin the game as a farmer, and they can join forces with additional characters as they progress through the game. Characters in the game automatically improve their skills to become a powerful warrior, archer, or magic user, depending on the player's actions. The game features more than 1,000 different weapons and armor and more than 100 spells. In addition to the single-player campaign, Dungeon Siege includes a completely separate multiplayer world where players can join forces to explore and battle.

Dungeon Siege is now available in stores for an approximate retail price of $49.95. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game. We'll post a full review of the game soon.
